Jay Sean is a British singer/songwriter from London, and took the world by storm. He had a #1 Top 40 hit with the song "Down."

Signed in 2003 by 2Point9, Jay recorded his first single `Dance with you' with leading Brit Asian producer Rishi Rich alongside Punjabi singer Juggy D. The track blew up and Jay, who was on course to becoming a doctor, cut short his medical school education to sign a deal with Virgin Records. Two TOP 10 singles later, his debut album ME AGAINST MYSELF ended up selling over 300,000 copies worldwide.

His sophomore album, MY OWN WAY, recorded in New York and London, was released independently in 2008 and sold more than 150, 000 copies. His sales caught the eye and ear of Cash Money CEO Ronald "Slim" Williams, who instantly saw Jay's worldwide appeal and potential and signed him to a multi-album recording contract.
